Being a personal trainer in NYC that travels all around Manhattan means that I’m ALWAYS on the go. I have limited time to sit down and eat especially during peak hours, which makes eating a sit-down meal pretty much impossible. This put me on the search to find a healthy replacement that was quick, wasn’t perishable, and minimal in surgars/carbs.
Understanding Application
The personal training industry is expanding rapidly and with that expansion comes misinterpretation of fitness application. Just the other day I read a post about a sprint coach needing to help an athlete run a faster10m sprint to make a top level team. Unfortunately the coach only had 4 more days to train her and she was missing the marks by .05s on a consistent basis.

It’s great because we get to experience what all the neighborhoods have to offer, from great coffee shops, food, gyms, etc… But getting from place to place can start to become a hassle, ESPECIALLY going cross town, pretty much every NYC personal trainers nightmare.

Increase Your Speed by Walking?

When you think of increasing your first step or overall speed, most people think of executing “fast movements”, such as sprinting. Now that’s partially true, but what if an athlete doesn’t fully extend and doesn’t know how to? Would you have the athlete go into a full speed sprint and yell “push back” or “fire your glutes!” You may, but its not going to do jack shit and just bad coaching 🙂
